After ESL, we did "Family Panel Discussion". A few people from host family came our class, and talked about life with us. We should have asked each one question .

In the afternoon, we went "Roseville Mall" to do "Camera Scavenger Hunt in English". We devided some groups, and we were given a paper which were written the lists that we should take pictures. For exmple, "take picture with eldery couple" or "strange fashion". At first, when we speak to someone to ask to take picture with us without explanation, some of them thought us strange, so it was difficult for us, so we decided to change how to ask to them. We expalined to them why we want to take picture with them then more people joined us. I felt the importance of conversation.
We found "Dairy Queen" in that mall, so we ate ice cream. I chose vanilla taste.




This is "Water Tank". In this tank, water for each household is saved. I learned that by my host father on the way to home. I saw many water tank in Minnesota. There were other pattern's one.

Last week, I almost stay home, and watched TV shows for a long time. I had some plans to meet my friends, but because of typhoon those were canceled, so I have so tired this week. The environment around me was changed so much. Cultural festival will be held about one month later, so I should preparate for that, but I didn't go that this week. I'm sorry for other member, and I should finish my assignment. I should finish that until Sunday. In addition, I decided to do part time job. That job is first experience for me, so I'm nervous, but I'll try to do my best. I'll do that from this Sunday. I'm so busy. But, I'll go bookshop to get magazines today.

This morning, I went to shopping with my hostfamily. We passed near this building. I saw many magnificent bildings too.









We went to "farmer's market". Many people came from various countries.
I saw many families worked there.






There were various kinds of things, flower, vegetable, food, bag, jewelry, and so on.










I ate big cinnamon roll for breakfast. That was delicious.










After we back home, I went to other grocery store with my host mother. That was forth time for me to go grocery store.












I found this! So cute. :) But I think this one is in wrong place.










There were many cute logotypes on each section.










We went to "rainbow". This is the name of grocery store which I went to this day. There were some shops near this shop. We went to clothes store next. I bought three dresses. They were so cheap because of sall. I found many people in here had conversations with clerk during paying. I think it is good thing.

27 July

I went to church in this morning with my host family. It seemes that many people in here go church on sunday. I've never been to church in Japan, so that was first time for me.











That image before I went to there was quiet place, but actually there was exciting place. We sang some songs with playing by band musicand talked many people. They were from various countries, and they were so friendly.
In addition, there were two Japanese people, so I could speak Japanese with them. :D










In the afternoon, I went to a hamburger shop with my host sister and her friend. That shop's name was "RED ROBIN".











Last week, I went to another hamburger shop. There was in open air. That place was good too. This shop was indoor. There were many american pictures in that shop. It was fresh for me.











I ate this hamburger. That was big but I could eat all. :) I found if we couldn't eat all, we could take out that food. Clerk give us container.


When we ate that, I couldn't hear their fluentry English, so I wanted to be able to understand their English and join conversations.


We did home party in this evening. Two family came my host house. We ate dinner in the open air. There were four children. I played them after dinner with toys. At first, they didn't understand my English, but I used prainsing words when they did good, for example "Good job!!", they gradually understood my English and I could play well together. That experience was good for me.

25 July

I learned about "Adoptions" in ESL and lecture. I surprised and admired to American attitude to "Adoptions". That attitude was so positive, so my view of that was expaned. When I took homework with my hosthamily, I found that was so common in U.S. Therefore, I thought it was quite different compared in Japanese one.

After lunch, we did "Bunko". "Bunko" is a game with dice. I and some students could get prizes. That game was fun. It seemes that the game is played when people drink with their friend or family.


I went to grocery's stores with my hostfather after school. We went to three stores.
I attracted the designs of packages, so I took some pictures.
This is water melon. I like that. :)

This is Bob's market. I heard Bob was someone's name.






This store was not so clean but many things were cheap.



This is "Dairy Qeen". That is an ice-cream shop which I went at the second day.



I found some magazines. This day, I decided to buy a magazine as souvenir for one of my friend who likes American culture.

Today's lunch ;)




We ate dinner near Minnesota University! and I ate Californir Burger. There was my host sister's friend. After dinner, we entered to Minnesota University. That university was so wide and there were many buildings. We walked lake near there. I wanted to take pictures too but I lamented to put it in house. When I walked many places, I felt as if I were in a movie of America.

We could choose our drink every morning. Hot water was in the left bottle, and the other one was for coffee.


This day we took a lecture of Philosophy after ESL. I was interested in Philosophy, so that lecture was interesting for me.

I asked my hostfamily to show me their Yearbook for my homework. I had never seen foreign year book. Those were little similar but different from Japanese one. 73w

23 July

I went to Bethel University with my host sister's driving. I arrived there little early, so I walked around the university.

The lecture "ESL" started this day. We learned about "Paul Bunyan" and "Mississipi River". "Paul Bunyan" was a lumber jack who spent most of his life in Minnesota.

After ESL, we did tours of Behtel University. I surprised about the size, but I heard this university was not so big compared the other universities in America. I also surprised that.












There was a big lake in this university. That was beautiful.








After that, we ate lunch in cafeteria. There were many students of this university too. Many people were there, so we were hard to find our table.










We went to Riverboat Cruise by bus. That bus was cute.







This day was good weather, and cloud were close to us and scene from boat were so beautiful.





However, I slpet a little time. I think that was because jet lag.






This evening, we ate dinner outside. I heard that Minnesota's winter was so long, so people in Minnesota often did so during summer. It was fresh experience for me.
After we ate dinner, I went to "Daily Queen" with host father and host sister. "Daily Queen" is the famous ice cream shop in America. We walked during the way to that. I could know the school system in America. When we arrived there, host mother arriived there too with her car. I chose cherry ice cream. That was dericious, but I little surprised about that color.

I'll write about my experiences in Minnesota.

This day is the first day to Minnesota. We took airplane Fukuoka to Tokyo, Tokyo to Minnesota.


It took about 13hours. After we arrived Minnesota, we met our host family. The way to the house, I was surprised the speed of car. Many people drove with so high speed. I learned the difference between "freeway" and "highway". Freeway is the road inside city, and highway is the road outside city. Highway needs money. After we arrived home, I was given juice and I met dog. :) She was so cute. I took rest little time. We had plan, so after that we went to Como park.

We ate some real American foods. I little surprised about that.
I played soccer with my friend and people there. After that we taught Japanese culture to our host family. My group taught cat's cradle. 149

I've finished to take examinations. I took about 10 tests. This time, I didn't study enough,so I worry about results. BUT my real vacation starts at last! I have many plans. I'm so exciting.

Yesterday, I went to rental shop after school. We can rent with cheaper price CD and DVD on the day with 5, so I rented three CDs. I wanted DVD too but I had bought a magazine, so I didn't have enogh money to rent that. However, that DVD had already been rented by someone.
Many peole came there, so there were many cars and I faced an uphill struggle to park and go out. I couldn't go out easily, so I must have waited to go back neighbor, but he came soon, so I could back hame. I feared to run into other cars but I relieved to be able to back without accident. 149w
